NEW NURSING GEAR

Hey all...Danielle wanted to get some new nursing gear and i found a few things (sorry that it took so long Danielle, this last month has been crazy...lol). Anywayz, i found a website that will let us create our own gear. They have everything from clothing to pens, paper, bumperstickers, stuffed animals. We can put our design on just about anything and it is a very easy process. It would be great if some people could play around on it and come up with some ideas and pass them on. I also found a few websites with pre-made nursing stuff. These websites have some really cute things. I will post links to all of these websites. Please take a look, play with some ideas and pass them along so we can get some new stuff.

The best website i found for creating our own products: customink.com

Jessica Reyes
TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS,
HE LIVED ALL ALONE,
IN A ONE BEDROOM HOUSE MADE OF
PLASTER AND STONE.
I HAD COME DOWN THE CHIMNEY
WITH PRESENTS TO GIVE,
AND TO SEE JUST WHO
IN THIS HOME DID LIVE.
I LOOKED ALL ABOUT,
A STRANGE SIGHT I DID SEE,
NO TINSEL, NO PRESENTS,
NOT EVEN A TREE.
NO STOCKING BY MANTLE,
JUST BOOTS FILLED WITH SAND,
ON THE WALL HUNG PICTURES
OF FAR DISTANT LANDS.
WITH MEDALS AND BADGES,
AWARDS OF ALL KINDS,
A SOBER THOUGHT
CAME THROUGH MY MIND.
FOR THIS HOUSE WAS DIFFERENT,
IT WAS DARK AND DREARY,
I FOUND THE HOME OF A SOLDIER,
ONCE I COULD SEE CLEARLY.
THE SOLDIER LAY SLEEPING,
SILENT, ALONE,
CURLED UP ON THE FLOOR
IN THIS ONE BEDROOM HOME.
THE FACE WAS SO GENTLE,
THE ROOM IN SUCH DISORDER,
NOT HOW I PICTURED
A UNITED STATES SOLDIER.
WAS THIS THE HERO
OF WHOM I'D JUST READ?
CURLED UP ON A PONCHO,
THE FLOOR FOR A BED?
I REALIZED THE FAMILIES
THAT I SAW THIS NIGHT,
OWED THEIR LIVES TO THESE SOLDIERS
WHO WERE WILLING TO FIGHT.
SOON ROUND THE WORLD,
THE CHILDREN WOULD PLAY,
AND GROWNUPS WOULD CELEBRATE
A BRIGHT CHRISTMAS DAY.
THEY ALL ENJOYED FREEDOM
EACH MONTH OF THE YEAR,
BECAUSE OF THE SOLDIERS,
LIKE THE ONE LYING HERE.
I COULDN'T HELP WONDER
HOW MANY LAY ALONE,
ON A COLD CHRISTMAS EVE
IN A LAND FAR FROM HOME.
THE VERY THOUGHT
BROUGHT A TEAR TO MY EYE,
I DROPPED TO MY KNEES
AND STARTED TO CRY.
THE SOLDIER AWAKENED
AND I HEARD A ROUGH VOICE,
"SANTA DON'T CRY,
THIS LIFE IS MY CHOICE;
I FIGHT FOR FREEDOM,
I DON'T ASK FOR MORE,
MY LIFE IS MY GOD,
MY COUNTRY, MY CORPS."
THE SOLDIER ROLLED OVER
AND DRIFTED TO SLEEP,
I COULDN'T CONTROL IT,
I CONTINUED TO WEEP.
I KEPT WATCH FOR HOURS,
SO SILENT AND STILL
AND WE BOTH SHIVERED
FROM THE COLD NIGHT'S CHILL.
I DIDN'T WANT TO LEAVE
ON THAT COLD, DARK, NIGHT,
THIS GUARDIAN OF HONOR
SO WILLING TO FIGHT.
THEN THE SOLDIER ROLLED OVER,
WITH A VOICE SOFT AND PURE,
WHISPERED, "CARRY ON SANTA,
IT'S CHRISTMAS DAY, ALL IS SECURE."
ONE LOOK AT MY WATCH,
AND I KNEW HE WAS RIGHT.
"MERRY CHRISTMAS MY FRIEND,
AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT

FYI - Body Worlds 2 Exhibit in San Jose

http://www.thetech.org/bodyworld/

OverviewGunther von Hagens' BODY WORLDS exhibitions are the original, precedent-setting public anatomical exhibitions of real human bodies, by physician, anatomist, and inventor of Plastination, Dr. Gunther von Hagens.
BODY WORLDS features more than 200 authentic human specimens preserved through Plastination, including whole bodies, individual organs, and transparent body slices. The exhibit offers visitors an in-depth view of the intricately designed human body, comparative anatomy showing wellness and disease, and the mysterious world of the brain.
Throughout our lives, from birth to adolescence and adulthood to old age, the brain chisels, refines, learns, reinvents, matures, and transforms itself. BODY WORLDS 2 & The Three Pound Gem includes a special debut feature on the brain inspired by the latest findings in neuroscience on brain development and function, brain disease and disorders, and brain performance and improvement.
BODY WORLDS is aligned with The Tech's mission to "inspire the innovator in everyone", and complements and builds on permanent Galleries and exhibits in the museum focused on medical technologies, biotech, genetics and the human body. When you come to see the limited-engagement BODY WORLDS exhibition, be sure to leave some time to enjoy the hands-on experiences in The Tech related to life sciences.
Learn about the Life Tech Gallery and other exhibits The Tech that complement BODY WORLDS, or plan your trip to the Hackworth IMAX Dome Theater to see The Human Body, Wired to Win, or any one of our other great IMAX movies.

Yearbook Update

I had a meeting with the woman that is to create our yearbook. Her name is Mara Firestone and she works out of her home in Galt. Mara has been a consultant for Creative Memories for many, many many, years.

At this point we are looking at a 20 page year book for 40.00. It will have a hardcover and the pages will be full of beautiful colors. Her books are high quality! If we order more than 40 books we can get 3 pages more for free and she also said if we order more than 60 books she will give us more pages for free. So if we sell more than 40 books we will get 23 pages for 40.00 (plus tax). Her fee is included in the $40. I also want to have 1/4page slots in the book, which would cost 15 dollars and 1/8 page slots which would cost $10 dollars; where familes can write what I would call a "Love Line" and that would be something like "I Love You Binky". Or "I Can't Wait to Spend Your Nursing Money"! Whatever they want to say and it can be as long as they want (Just as long as it fits in 1/4 or 1/8 of a page). Tenatively, there will be 28 love line availabilities (first come first serve). Orders for Love Lines can begin being placed Dec 17th - Apr 1st. Forms for Love Line ads will be available Nov 12th, so that you may have them for the holidays and families can fill them out. Please Note: Money has to accompany Love Line Form

The DEADLINE will be April 1st for yearbook purchases. Please don't try to pay me yet. I am just informing you on my plans. I will notify you when I have an example of the yearbook theme pages and love line forms and the proper set-up to collect your money. After taxes it will probably be 45dollars or so.

Will update you when I have more info
