KAPLAN REVIEW AT DELTA COLLEGE
FYI, I received a phone call that the review at Delta college will be in Cunningham 333. The review starts June 7Th at 9:00 am, they ask that students arrive 10 min before 9:00, and to please be on time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bring # 2 pencil.

I just wanted to take a second to say THANKS to Nurse Nickey!!!
I was just thinking about all that you have done and planned, for us. I just wanted to say THANK YOU for all of it. I can not imagine how stressful it has been to plan everything that you have done over the past 2 years. See you tomorrow, I'm sure everything will go smoothly. You're awesome,...and I can't believe all of this craziness is almost over??!! Good Luck to everyone, I'm gonna miss you guys!!!

I just wanted to congratulate each and every one of you and wish you all lots of love, health and happiness in your new career as nurses! There is a WORLD of opportunity out there for us now and we are not nearly as dangerous as we used to be........(we hope). I also wanted to Thank so many of you who have shared notes, passed down study guides and have just been a great "support" group while I have traveled down the ADN road. I think we are an awesome class and always wanted each other to succeed. I will miss seeing so many of you on a regular basis, I think it will take a little while to re-adjust to not being in the ADN program. God Bless and Good Luck to you all on this new journey in life.

Information Update
Nursing Pictures
From Fritz Chin Everyone can take pictures, even if you do not purchase a picture package. Your picture will be in the yearbook whether you purchase a package or not.Fritz Chin is donating 2 packages, for those who cannot afford to purchase a package. Please call me if you would like to be considered for this 209-327-0797. If there are more than two people that need accommodations, I will draw names and notify you. PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT YOUR NAME UNLESS, IT IS AN ABSOLUTE HARDSHIP FOR YOU TO PURCHASE A PACKAGE. Because there are some of us, that REALLY need it! The persons receiving donated packages will remain anonymous.
Have your order form for your pictures ready, as this will speed the process. Pictures will be taken in the skills lab (the room closet to the elevator). I have also set up the room in the middle of the skills lab, as a “Dressing room”. Fritz Chin will be set –up to take pictures from 3-5pm. They will also be present during the ceremony taking pictures that will be available for purchase on-line, from their website.
Yearbooks
I have changed our yearbook company. We will now be receiving our yearbooks from Fritz Chin. They are giving us a package special, so we will be receiving 40 pages for the same price; the other company was charging us for 20 pages. Allow 6 weeks for delivery of your yearbooks. I am working on getting 2 yearbooks donated, so that they can be gifted to the student that cannot afford to purchase a yearbook. Please submit your yearbook orders by rehersal. Yearbooks will not be available after capping and pinning. Please complete the address portion as I will need it for shipping purposes. Also include your phone number, just in case there are issues with shipping your products.
Videographer
I have cancelled with signature videography, I did not receive interest from at least 40 people to secure payment. We will not have a contracted videographer.

Clothing Line?!?
Hey Ladies and Gents!
We have forgotten, the traditional clothing line! It has been tradition for graduationg Nursing students to hang the "Ceil Blues" on the Locke Clothing Line. We have not talked about it and up to this point I have not thought about it. So I figure we better talk about it!
We need three posters, Gemeka and a few other girls said they would do one of the poster boards, so we need two more poster boards; they can say whatever you want them to say (as long as it is tasteful).
We Also need Nursing articles, last year the hung pants, shirts, and shoes. We can hang pants, shirts and shoes also. I think it would be cool if we decorated the items. Maybe signing them, drawing on them, or writing a message to future nursing graduates (reply with what item you wish to decorate and if you plan to sign it, decorate it or whatever you plan, so that we don't have two of the same styles).
All of those whom wish to participate in this celebration are all welcome to participate by being present as we say good bye to those blues!!!!!! At this point, it is to late to plan this in any other forum, except the blog. So get with your buddies and decorate a clothing item or a poster and LET'S GO OUT WITH A BANG!
We probably need 4 shirts and 2 pairs of pants. Me and a couple of girls are going to decorate 1 of the 4 shirts, so we still need 3 decorated shirts and 2 pairs of decorated pants.

It is my honor and my challenge to condense the thoughts and feelings, the hopes and the struggles of our class into a “Reflection Speech” that represents the entirety of the class. In order to do so, I need your input.
Feel free to answer with a word or an essay each of the questions below.
1) Why did you choose Nursing?
2) What did you fear before beginning the journey?
2) How did you feel that first few days of Nursing Program?
3) Did you have a moment/class/semester when everything came together?
4) Who would you like to acknowledge for helping you get through the program?
5) Did you have a motto/daily affirmation that helped you get through the rough times?
6) What important events occurred in your life while in nursing school?
7) How do you feel as a grad?
8) What are your hopes/plans for the future?

Update on Kaplan review at Delta
I e-mailed Scott the Kaplan rep about questions I'm sure everyone has, his responses are in red.

(Remember the review dates for Delta College are June 7 & 8 Th 9-5pm and June 14 & 15Th 9-5pm)

I had a few questions for you;
1. Will you or Kaplan be contacting the students to let them know the class room # were the review will be held? I will only be seeing the students one more time next week. Yes.. we will call them a few days before and let them know the class room number..
2. Should students be doing any reading of the Kaplan book before the review or doing anything on-line before the review, or will all of this be explained at the review? Not really.. In fact we recommend that they do nothing in the online Qbank-- as they do not have any strategies to use to practice... and once they answer a question, they do not get to reset it.... so encourage them to hold on until after the first weekend so they know what they are doing..

Just Want you all to know I am working on getting us a videographer!
I will let you know more info next Mon. I am already penciled in with a company, but I have to get a guarantee of purchase from a minimum of 40 people. More info to come (possibly on this Wed or Thurs).
Also I will be coming to the N10 class next Monday, to pick up yearbook order forms and update you on all the ceremonial information (I have great news)!!! See you all on Monday and I will see you N8ers on Thursday.
